You are beautiful.

Yes, you are chaotic, upsetting, messy, and imperfect; you’re unpredictable, hard to catch. But you are also the most beautifully naturally constructed thing I have ever laid eyes on with people, places, and things that give me the good kind of wrinkles, keep my feet kicking, and throw my soul into dancing.

And I would never want the debris left over from the inevitable disarray of yesterday, today, or tomorrow to cloud the rays that feed the joy, giggles, peace, understanding, appreciation in each of your inhabitants.

I’ll never fully understand you. I don’t have all the answers or explanations. In fact, the answers I do have I can count on one hand.

Over a dozen of frozen freddos (little chocolate covered, cream-filled, gelato bites) my friend’s and I tried mulling over your why’s and tested out a variety of possibilities on each other.

None of us could offer up a solution that couldn’t be picked apart.

I can’t say why you’ve got a bit of trouble. I can’t say why you’re confusing.

I can compare you to a wave though. Powerful, striking, alluring; the one responsible for knocking me down, bringing me ashore, and sending me off to chase my dreams.

I’m going to ‘ride you out’ in style, taking in the thrill of your curves and the rush of your unpredictability.

I’m glad to be enjoying you today.

You are a remarkable place, filled with beautiful people and picture-perfect sunsets. I find that they are the fertilizer needed to cultivate the most attractive you. They’re the cherry on top.

I’ll keep loving you as if there’s no crash coming.
