This January I will leave for a five-month study stretch across Europe. I found it very difficult to pick only one home country since there are so many beautiful countries to live in, so I chose to take advantage of the ‘global scholar’ option available through CIEE. I will be spending three separate six week blocks in London, England // Paris, France // Rome, Italy. During my stay I want to travel throughout Europe, but I don’t want to miss out on what one country truly has to offer because I am only able to stay a day or two. However, as a global scholar I can dive into each major city (and home country) for a solid six weeks and “localize” myself during that time. This way I get the best of both worlds; I can learn the subtler details of my home country while living there, but also gain from the variety of my stays.
